Cosmetic Contouring

One of the oldest and most economical of all esthetic procedures is cosmetic contouring of the natural teeth. Dr Edgar was introduced to this technique at the 1977 Chicago midwinter meeting in a live patient demonstration of the procedure by Dr Ronald Goldstein of Atlanta, Georgia.  This is a painless procedure involving diamond impregnated high speed drills used to for reshaping and polishing of malpositioned teeth or teeth with minor fractures. This procedure makes teeth more self cleansing and  reduces the likelihood of future fracture.  

In situations where other procedures such as orthodontics or ceramic crowns are too expensive for you, cosmetic reshaping provides a good alternative. Some patients will have the procedure done as a short term solution to crowding of teeth while they are preparing their finances for more expensive procedures later.
